If you rent a car at Malaga airport it is very easy to get out and on to the motorway to Almuñécar. Head out of the airport (there is only one way out) and you will join the M23. Stay on this road until you join the M20 in direction: Motril and Almeria. You are then on the AUTOVÍA del MEDITERRANEO (A7). Carry on following the large blue signs to: ALMERIA, CORDOBA, GRANADA and SEVILLA the A7/E15 and A45. Several kms further on after leaving Malaga – the motorway splits to the right to Granada, Cordoba and Seville (DO NOT take this) but follow signs straight on for ALMERÍA and MOTRIL.
